The Foam Cell Difference

All Shock Absorbers contain both Gas and Oil which generally get mixed together by the internal piston while under hard operation. When shocks are working hard the Oil heats up and expands, while the Gas contracts to make room. The Gas bubbles that are created can pass through the valve assemblies lowering the overall viscosity and causing shock fade. Foam Cell shocks are designed to contain these (nitrogen) Gas bubbles within the foam itself during hard operation. This ensures that the oil and bubbles don't mix and provides a higher resistance to shock fade.
